ABSTRACT |
The orginal Two-Dimensional Transonic Wind Tunnel at the National Aerospace Laboratory was completed in 1979, and has been used for many tests since then as a wind tunnel able to duplicate Reynolds numbers of actual aircraft level. In recent years, however, frequent breakdowns began to occur due to aging, mostly in the control system. To rectify this situation, we commenced a modification program in fiscal 1995, which was completed in fiscal 1997. The aim of the modifications was not only to recover damaged functions but to enhance the faculty of the whole wind tunnel system. This paper introduces the new Two-Dimensional Transonic Wind Tunnel, with an overview of the new wind tunnel system in Chapter 1, and introductions to the control system and the instrumentation of the new system in Chapters 2 and 3 respectively. |
