ABSTRACT	A large scale technological R＆D project of the fanjet STOL aircraft has been promoted by the National Aerospace Laboratory(NAL)of the Science and Technology Agency(STA)with support and cooperation from related organizations,from the middle of the 1970s to the end of the 1980s with a budgetary expense of about 350 billion yen.This project provided NAL researchers and engineers with the best chance to put together the tecnologies accumulated so far into a system of STOL researchnd tasks were carried out”.At about the same time of publication of this project summary,three more detailed summary reports,namely summaries of the development of STOL research aircraft,of the engine development and the flight test are being published.These four documents might be consulted to understand all activities related to the project.
