ABSTRACT	The thrust of a 14-cm xenon ion thruster was durectly measured.the ion thruster was set on a pendulum,and the displacement of the pendulum depended on the thrust.The displacement was measured using a laser displacement meter.Estimated error in the thrust measurement was about 1％.The measured thrust was compared with the calculated thrust derived from the ideal thrust with compensation of doubly charged ions and ion-beam divergence.It was found that the calculated thrust was about 103％ of the measured thrust.
