ABSTRACT |
This paper presents a new method using Monte Carlo simulation to estimate a life distrubution of fatigue crack propagation on the basof the Monte Carlo scheme generates a set of teh two parameter estimates and they give life of crack propagation.In this study,these methods are applied for the striation spacing data measured on the fatigue fracture surface of a rod end housing of a hydraulic actuator used for a main landing gear of a transport aircraft.The life distributions predicted are discussed and compared to clarify the features of each methos.The proposed method approximates the true fatigue life as the B allowable life when the initial crack length is assumed to be 0mm. |
