ABSTRACT |
A governing equation for multi-layered cylindrical shells under combined thermal and mechanical loading is derived as a first approximation,consistent with the Kirchhoff-Love hypothesis,in the form of an eighth-order differential equation with respect to the lateral displacement.The shell structure is assumed to consist of homogeneous and isotropic layers having different material properties.It is also assumed that the material properties are constant for each layer.As an analytical example,the deformations and stresses of a multi-layered cylindrical shell under axisymmetric thermal load are analyzed |
