본 연구실의 주된 연구분야는 자동차, 전자제품, 항공기등과 관련된 제조산업, 의료, 문화, 게임 등 그래픽 서비스 산업에서 필수적으로 사용되는 다양한 설계 기술과 컨텐츠 생성 기술을 개발/발전 시키는데 있다.

기존의 geometric modeling 기술 토대위에 컴퓨터 그래픽스 기술, 네트워크 기술, 감성공학 기술, 인공지능 기술, 영상처리 기술 등을 융화시켜서 발전 시키고자 한다. 연구실의 세부 연구영역은 surface & polygon-based modeling, network technology for design, adavanced medical image processing, knowledge-based design. high precision inspection technology등을 포함한다.
