Our laboratory’s content of research performance in industrial application areas is the “ valuation of equipment reliability and risk management” technology. Current this technique is used in the field of large equipments, such as, process plant and power plants. However, from now on, main facilities management of almost all production companies, this technique will be used. Since this area of researches have the character of industrial engineering, business administration and mechanical engineering, we need not only knowledge of mechanical engineering, which is maintainability of equipment, damage, remaining life, etc, but also knowledge about equipment maintenance expenses, calculate the loss cost, reliability theory , relevant legislation, and the commercial solution are also necessary.
Such reliability management technology is an application technology which is expended by “high temperature fracture mechanics and mechanical properties”. The academic study area perform in our lab. As a field of science which investigates the materials’ fracture mechanisms at high temperatures and studies the damage prevention and life assessment of high temperature structures. High temperature fracture mechanics , is studies by limited several research teams around the world.. Our laboratory maintains close relationship with United State research team and continues doing studies. As a new future topic, in a recent study of trend in the field of material properties is associated with nano-technology, “high-temperature properties of nanostructure materials research”, our lab is also doing researches with ECAP nano-materials.
Recently, along with the hydrogen energy getting more and more popular, in pursuit of deversification energy consumption structure, we are planning to continue to research about hydrogen energy infrastructure, and proceeding researches on hydrogen-related safety diagnostic and safety design at the same time.
