Nano Materials and Devices (NanoMAD) Lab under the direction of Dr. Hoe Joon Kim in Department of Robotics Engineering at DGIST works on thermal science, multi-functional materials, and micro/nano systems. In particular, we focus on developing advanced manufacturing processes for emerging nanomaterials and functional materials for MEMS/NEMS, device, energy, and robotics applications.
대구경북과학기술원 로봇공학전공 소속 나노소재 및 소자 연구실은 새로운 공정법과 나노소재 개발을 통해 반도체, 에너지, 환경, 의료 등 다양한 분야에 적용되는 소자 및 기반기술을 연구하고 있습니다. 주력 연구분야는 RF MEMS 소자, 사물인터넷 기반 환경센서, 나노소재 공정,로봇적용 유연소자입니다.
Nanomaterials and many functional materials have drawn much attention thanks to their outstanding properties. However, the current semiconductor and MEMS/NEMS technologies still heavily rely on silicon and other conventional CMOS materials. There is much need to come up with economical yet scalable manufacturing methods for the successful integration of nano- and functional materials.
With this mission in mind, NanoMAD Lab is developing advanced manufacturing processes to build future micro and nano Systems. Key thrust areas are:
1. MEMS/NEMS : RF, Sensors, micro/nano heaters, assembly
2. Nanomaterials : Synthesis, device integration, property measurements
3. Flexible Devices : heaters, temperature/pressure sensors, transfer printing
