    초록 Low-vibration design is one of the most important technology in constructing high-quality ships, which should require accurate evaluation of ship excitation forces, especially induced by main propulsion system. In this study, we evaluate guide force moments of 2-stroke marine diesel engine, focusing on the evaluation using mean and variable moment arms during a cycle and their magnitude difference. Then, we develop a program to conveniently analysis excitation forces of the engine, which can consider its arbitrary firing orders and crankshaft angles. Using the program, we evaluate guide force moments of scores of diesel engines and compare the results with the maker-supplied data. From the analysis, we find two representative engine makers adopt different moment arm evaluation method which may cause unexpected results in low-vibration design of ships. Hence, we expect the presented results and program can be used for more accurate evaluation of guide force moment of the engine and its optimization considering vibration characteristics of ship structure.
