    초록 Optimization study has been carried out to design a high energy efficient, high temperature vacuum furnace which satisfies users' design requirements. First of all, the unsteady temperature distribution and working zone results have been compared with steady state results, in order to check the suitability of using steady state results to construct the thermal analysis DB In order to cheek the accuracy of the constructed thermal analysis DB, the interpolated results using constructed thermal analysis DB has been compared with CFD-ACE analysis results. For this prolem, heatflux requirement is objective function, and geometry of vacuum furnace is design variable, and working zone size and wall temperature are constraints. Finally, with negligible computatioal cost, a high temperature vacuum furnace which has 40-60% reduction in the total heat flux is designed using constructed thermal analysis DB.
