    Many orthopedic engineering applications require subject specific analysis for more accurate analysis. The shape of bone varies between subjects as the shape of face. Thus the generation of subject specific skeletal geometry would improve the accuracy of musculoskeletal simulation and mechanical stress analysis. In this study, we developed a method to deform femur geometry statistically and anatomically based on the population femur geometry. Femur models with polygon topology were created from CT data of 24 subjects. One of the models was selected as a base model and deformed to match the rest of the models to make the topology consistent between the models. The principal component analysis (PCA) was applied to perform geometric analysis. The average femur shape was calculated along with geometric modes which define the directions of shape deformation between different subjects.
